Tamales for breakfast with a side of pan dulce is probably what we all had for breakfast every day during the holiday break. So there’s no question about why most of us are feeling a little extra gordis this week.
Now that the holidays are over, it’s time we talk about this new plump body we’re rocking.
New year, new me.
You probably rolled up to school or work feeling like this:
But it isn’t your fault. Blame abuelita and mami for spending the whole break nearly force-feeding you plate after plate of delicious foods. Como sufrimos.
And it’s mainly because your house turned into a full-blown buffet bar.

Not to mention that all of your besties were a terrible influence.
Looking right at you, Yolanda.
Of course your family has noticed and they love to point it out.
But it is not funny, especially since they are sporting more extra pounds than you ever have. #OpenlyBitter
All of us have been trying to figure out how to get back to eating right but it’s not quiet happening yet.
She didn’t exactly specify which kind of fruit…
And when you do eat real fruit, you feel a piece of your soul literally dying.
Like, how am I supposed to survive off of this? 💀
You contemplate a different type of diet. One of those trendy ones.
But then you remember the whole empty calories thing and who even has time for a hangover anymore?
But it’s okay. Nothing happens overnight so you can start your road to recovery slowly.
Even a small amount of salad is still a salad, right?
So, until your food intake is back in the balance, love yourself because there is now more to love.

Plus, we all know that if they can’t love you now they don’t deserve you at your best.
